HPM :: Not Fairy Effective

Forgive me for that title 

Anyway, for the Fighting Competition this year round, the first rounds were based on types. Lo and behold, that type for Nathan versus Sammy (belonging to the lovely DraxoTheDragonGirl) was none other than Fairy, Nathan's newest type.

Since this picture is far from my best, I decided to write a little something to go with it- forgive my writing skills!

    Nathan stepped into the clearing, the patch of grass light green and short and surrounded by- surprisingly enough- lots of little and big mushrooms of all variety. He was sad to see that the clearing- or the ring, as it had been deemed- had also had blooms once but for this purpose it had been cleared away. He didn't dwell too much upon it, still perhaps more so than the others that were present- a few choice people running the whole shebang and two or three others just watching, and of course, his opponent. 

    He met eyes with a younger girl, shoulder-length white hair slightly wild upon her head and a somewhat ready look on her face, some sort of confidence of youth gleaming in her eyes. "So, I take it your my opponent, then?" He inquired, knowing well of the answer even as she nodded in response. "I'm Nathan." "Sammy." Of course the introductions were quick and blunt, they did have a match to do, after all. Nathan took a deep breath and rolled up his sleeves, ready when the match was started- or so he though. He looked at the Absol only to meet with a startling Scary Face, which completely caught him off guard.

    Sammy was quick to take advantage of the fact, slamming into Nathan's side with Tackle, knocking him back a little as he stumbled to compose himself. She moved back, perhaps with the intent to gain some momentum for another Tackle, but Nathan was quick to utilize Grass Knot, having it wrap about her leg to cause her to fall. The younger fighter tumbled, not ungracefully but certainly not like a Swanna, and struggled to get herself free. Nathan approached slowly, thinking about an attack when suddenly she lunged forward with a well-thought Sucker Punch, sending him back enough so she had time to break free.

    Nathan frowned as he realized he couldn't use Psychic on her- seeing as Dark-Types took Psychic-Type attacks like they were air and just blew them off, and that was troubling. So, instead he improvised a little, watching as she charged at him with another Tackle. Right as she neared, he mustered all the power he could into using Psychic- except instead of attacking, he lifted himself just high enough in the air to gain enough of an advantage. Of course, it already started to peter out by the type Sammy had realized what he had done, but it still gave him the space he needed. Sammy glanced up with surprised eyes, ready to throw a Sucker Punch, but instead was met with Nathan's Dazzling Gleam- which promptly knocked Sammy away from the ring entirely, perhaps more than he had intended for it to.

    With a relieved sigh at the declaration of the match, he met his well-fought opponent and shook hands, telling her it was an impressive fight and that he must've won simply because  he had an advantage of where they had fought- pointing out that, in fact, they had fought within the circle of mushrooms- or in more simple terms, a Fairy Ring.

Okay so that might be a little lame but I couldn't really think of much else that could make it Fairy-related, despite Nathan's typing and his moves.... But I loved the thought of using a Fairy ring so I  supposed I'll just go with it and hope for the best?
